I spent last Saturday at one of the Winrock Institute’s cooking classes on Petit Jean Mt. It was the “Sizzling Summer Steaks” class taught by Chef Brandon Douglas.
It’s Arkansas Beef Month, so it’s time, once again if you haven’t done so already, to start grilling your favorite beef cuts. Of course, kids love burgers, and we love to grill big, thick juicy ones and load them down with our favorite garnishes.
If you didn’t already know, May is National Beef Month. I love any excuse to eat beef. Steak, burgers, roast, anything beef is good in my book. Recently, a friend told me a tip to really tenderize steak before grilling. It will work on any cut of steak that you normally grill.
With the onset of warm temperatures, be aware of the spread of a potentially contagious condition often referred to as “Grilling Fever.” Beef consumers everywhere are suffering from the spring/summer passion that is forcing them to break out their grills.
