About Us

Taste Arkansas is an effort by Arkansas Farm Bureau to connect those interested in food production with the farmers and ranchers who provide us with an abundance Arkansas agricultural products.

Farm Bureau is an independent, voluntary organization of farm and ranch families united for the purpose of analyzing their problems and formulating action to achieve educational improvement, social advancement, promote the national well-being and increase awareness of the economic importance of agriculture. Farm Bureau is county, state, national and international in its scope and influence. Farm Bureau is nonpartisan, nonsectarian, nongovernmental and nonsecret in character. Farm Bureau strives to be the voice of agricultural producers at all levels.

The mission of Arkansas Farm Bureau is to:

  1. Advocate the interests of agriculture in the public arena;
  2. Disseminate information concerning the value and importance of agriculture; and
  3. Provide products and services which improve the quality of life for our members.

Each county in the nation and Puerto Rico has a Farm Bureau organization. Those county groups belong to a state federation (Arkansas Farm Bureau), and the state federations to a national federation (American Farm Bureau). Each organization is autonomous, but all work smoothly together on behalf of farm and rural people.

These groups monitor government activity, promote new laws and regulations, initiate and support community activities, provide economic services, encourage fellowship within communities.

The work is done in the county Farm Bureaus by thousands of volunteer leaders serving on boards and committees and planning social outings, educational workshops, political action and community forums; encouraging agricultural education in public schools; writing policy that guides the organization’s lobbying and emphasizing the economic importance of agriculture.

County Farm Bureaus are as effective and powerful as members like you want them to be. There is always need for the enthusiastic member, as an out-in-front leader or a behind-the-scenes doer. Rewards are great, for the organization and for the individual. There is great satisfaction in working hand-in-hand with friends and neighbors and Arkansas produce growers for the common cause of supporting Arkansas agricultural products and services.
